The Champ
Jake Edwards created "The Champ" over 12 years ago as a radio character, inspired by two Canadian comedians MacLean and MacLean. "The Champ" quickly developed enormous listener loyalty in Canadian markets from coast to coast, offering fresh, topical episodes each day. "The Champ" is the undefeated Boxing Champion of the World, now in retirement after being in maybe one too many boxing matches. With his charming innocence and ignorance he continually misunderstands most comments made to him by people he encounters and his usual entourage of characters. "The Champ's" popular catch phrase "Snap!" "I Lose It!" and "I Says Pardon?" is followed by humorous detail of how he overreacts.
